Friday Feature :: Ashley & Chris

From the very beginning, Ashley and Chris were focused on their wedding being a CELEBRATION. There is no doubt that every ounce of their wedding weekend was a celebration! They had over 150 guests gathered from all over the United States at Royal Palms to watch their exchange of vows and dance the night away with them.

We had the opportunity to work with this couple from start to finish, and we loved every moment of the planning with them. Here is an inside scoop from them on what the planning was like and the advice they have for other couples:

:: What were each of your thoughts the night before the wedding?
We were so excited with the rehearsal dinner and all of the people in town! We had to pinch ourselves that it was really happening, Chris was feeling antsy with anticipation.

:: Aside from your “I Do’s”, what is one moment you will never forget about your wedding day?
We will never forget dancing like crazy all night until the resort turned on the lights in an attempt to get the packed dance floor to go home!

:: What were your immediate thoughts when you saw each other for the first time (i.e. first look)?
The nerves were overwhelming and the second we saw each other we both started crying uncontrollably. It is this amazing moment that you realize you are looking at your husband/wife for the first time.

:: Any funny memories you’d like to share from your wedding celebration (before/during/after)?
After the rehearsal dinner ended, the boys were SUPPOSED to go back to the hotel… however somehow ended up at the bars… and somehow the groom was standing behind someone who was pepper sprayed. Which resulted in the groom being pepper sprayed, in his face, on his wedding day, at 1am. *The bride did not find this funny until after the wedding*
Also, we held a surprise dance contest where we preselected contestants, and they really showed up with the moves. The bride’s uncle did a tripod, a groomsman dropped his pants, and a guest did the splits. The competition was fierce!
The bride, groom, and father of the bride did the worm on the dance floor together!

:: Any advice you’d like to share with other couples planning their big day?
Do as much in advance as you can so you can enjoy the wedding month stress free! Listen to other people’s ideas, but at the end of the day do what you want because it is your only day. Get a band (so worth the money!) and dance!  Skip the small details that no one notices but you… they only stress you out!

:: Did anything surprise you about the process of planning your wedding?
We were both so surprised by how truly sad we were when the wedding was over! (we both cried the Monday after!)

:: When you think back to your wedding day, what are three words you would use to describe it?
Romantic, Elegant, Best Party Ever

Thank you both for allowing us to help you through the wedding planning! It was so special to bring your vision together and help you two enjoy every moment of your day with your family and friends. xo, Andrea
