This week we are sharing an inside look at Daniel and Elisa’s wedding. These two were married at The Clayton on the Park last October in an intimate celebration with their closest family and friends. Daniel and Elisa were both involved in every decision with the planning, and we love that they both took the time to answer the questions we sent over.
:: What were each of your thoughts the night before the wedding?
Daniel: “I hope I don’t puke or cry too much”
Elisa: “I hope I don’t pass out, and I hope I get some sleep tonight”
:: Aside from your “I Do’s”, what is one moment you will never forget about your wedding day?
Daniel: “Honestly, there were a lot of memorable moments: dancing, speeches, the music, etc. But the one thing I will never forget is seeing her outside during the first look before the wedding. Nothing I have done in my life could have prepared me for that. I almost lost it.”
Elisa: “I will never forget the look on his face during the first look. But it was also amazing seeing all of our hard work and planning come together as we have always imagined it.”
:: What were your immediate thoughts when you saw each other for the first time (i.e. first look)?
Daniel: Absolutely nothing. I couldn’t even function for a few minutes.
Elisa: “It’s finally happening. It’s all very real now.”
:: Any funny memories you’d like to share from your wedding celebration (before/during/after)?
Daniel: “My best man, John’s speech during the reception. It was amazing to see him make the entire crowd both laugh and cry at the same time. He told everyone that we drank juice boxes as adults! (And it was true…)”
Elisa: “My Spanx were too tight, making it hard to eat. So I recruited my maid of honor to help me out of them in the bathroom, discreetly handed it to the wedding planner, Andrea, and she hid it away for me.”
:: Any advice you’d like to share with other couples planning their big day?
“Do the first look. Traditionalists will miss out on a very important moment. This was the only part of our wedding in which the two of us had time to ourselves.”
:: Did anything surprise you about the process of planning your wedding?
Daniel and Elisa: “For me, Andrea asking Elisa questions like ‘when are you going to eat before the wedding?’ We never would have thought about it, and it would have been difficult to fit in between hair, makeup, getting dressed, etc. Oh, and how intricately detailed the timeline was for our wedding day. But, in the end, it didn’t feel rushed, and it went seamlessly.”
:: When you think back to your wedding day, what are three words you would use to describe it?
Unique, elegant, us.
Thank you both for allowing us to help make your wedding day uniquely “you”!
