And….we are back! Our team took a brief (maybe a little longer than brief) hiatus from blogging to take care of our amazing couples. Now, we are back with some really fun content to share with you.
Starting today, we will be featuring a past couple each Friday. We will highlight memories from their wedding, some of their favorites photos and some lessons learned throughout the planning. Each of our couples is such a cherished part of our ALWE family, and we are thrilled to be sharing them with you.
This week we are sharing Nikki and Trevor with you. These two married at Fairmont Scottsdale Princess in October 2014. They were surrounded by over 200 guests who had more fun that we thought was possible for a brunch wedding. The bloody mary’s and mimosas were flowing as guests enjoyed the brunch cuisine and took to the dance floor to celebrate this beautiful couple.
Nikki and Trevor have shared their answers to a couple questions below:
:: What were each of your thoughts the night before the wedding?
The night before I was calm, but so excited! I wasn’t nervous at all. Trevor and I were surrounded by so many loved ones we had nothing to be nervous about. In the end, I was marrying my best friend who has seen me through thick and thin.
:: Aside from your “I Do’s”, what is one moment you will never forget about your wedding day?
The speeches. Hearing from my dad, Trevor’s brother and my best friend of all the special memories and how they see us as a unit was incredible. They brought laughs and tears all in the same breath!
:: What were your immediate thoughts when you saw each other for the first time (i.e. first look)?
My immediate thought was comfort. I was standing with my best friend, we had waited an entire year and it was finally here! That was actually one of the first things we said was can you believe it’s finally here, and in the next breath it’ll be over before we know it.
:: Any funny memories you’d like to share from your wedding celebration (before/during/after)?
We had a brunch wedding. So we were up well before 5am getting ready for our 10am ceremony! Worth every second! Not so much for our bridesmaids/groomsman that thought we were nuts! – during the playing of YMCA, my cousin led the entire group in the largest dance that Andrea and her team had ever seen!
:: Any advice you’d like to share with other couples planning their big day?
Take a minute and sit back to enjoy. don’t worry about it being perfect every second. Let someone else worry about that. Enjoy every single second because it goes by fast.
Thank you Nikki & Trevor for sharing this inside peek into your big day! We are so grateful that we were there to see you dance the afternoon away and join together with your loved ones! Cannot wait to see what the coming year holds for you and your growing family!
